Map of Lansdale Borough

Lansdale Area

Incorporated in August of 1872, Lansdale area was named after the chief surveyor for the North Pennsylvania Railroad Philip Lansdale Fox. Originally part of 145 acres from Gwynedd Township, and 124 acres from Hatfield Township the borough has grown to 1,896 acres. The expansion of Lansdale is no surprise as the railroads played a key roll in the development of businesses, residences, and a transportation center. Lansdale Borough is actually considered a geographic center for the North Penn Region as it provides housing and job opportunities for the community.

Note: Several properties have a Lansdale postal address but are in reality located in the nearby Townships of Upper Gwynedd, Towamencin, Montgomery and Hatfield.
