Upper Dublin Township

Established in 1701, most of Upper Dublin Township remains in the Wissahickon Valley Watershed who's streams and creeks provided power for early milling establishments. The township became more accessible when roads were developed in the area. For Washington was located within the township and was starting to stand out as an activity center for business. After the second world war, a steady stream of new development came in, and significantly changed much or the area. Now, Fort Washington is one of the largest complexes in the county. Dresher, Jarretown, and Maple Glenn are the other large communities in Upper Dublin.
