Ambler Borough

Located at the crossroads of Butler and Bethlehem Pikes, Ambler was first known as Gilkey's corner. Gilkey's is considered the origins of Ambler before it was incorporated in 1888. Ambler Borough took away about one square mile from Upper Dublin Township.

Today you will find convenient access to public transportation, and a relative quiet living.Ambler has the quaint feel of a small town, and is an attractive community to many residences. You may notice that some properties have an Ambler postal address, however, their actual location may be Upper Dublin, Lower Gwynedd, Whitpain or Whitemarsh.

A main street shopping district is located the downtown, and three large shopping malls, Montgomery Mall, Plymouth Meeting Mall, and the Willow Grove Park Mall; are conveniently located within the borough.

All of Ambler is managed by public water and sewer facilities. A full-time police force serves borough residents 24/7, while fire departments are run by volunteer fire organizations. Residential waste management is provided by private businesses who are contracted by the city.
